I've had mine for two years now and use both the standard size jar and Wildside (larger) jar for blending. I make fresh peanut butter in it in small batches. Nothing beats having fresh, warm peanut butter. I also blend up the Costco size bag (2 1/2 lbs) of spinach, freeze it in silicon cupcake pans and store them for my smoothies. Makes it so easy in the morning.One piece of research I did when selecting between the Blendtec and the Vitamix is that the Vitamix is quite a bit taller and generally does not fit on a kitchen counter under the overhead shelves. The Blendtec is shorter and fits perfectly on the counter and can be tucked to the back under the overheads. There is a HUGE difference between a standard blender and this baby. I probably would have kept the vitamix, had it not been for their really bad customer service and incredible long wait time to get any help on the phone.I was really impressed by the Blendtech. I do like the controls on the vitamix better (much simpler) but the blendtech blends so much better there is no comparison. This blender is like a vitamix on steroids! So in the end this blender was a couple of hundred dollars less than the vitamix, blends much better and is made in the USA! 18 of 20 people found the following review helpful  an expensive blender which did not last, By This review is from: Blendtec TB-621-26 Total Blender WildSide/FourSide, Black (Kitchen) I bought this blender in February 2012.and by early in November 2012, less than nine months later, the rubber seal inside jar had come off and been blended into the food. The jar is leaking and the blade is lose. The motor is still working but the digital display has gone as well.I contacted Blendtec customer service in America, produced the receipt of the purchase, then I was redirected their agent in Australia. when I contacted the Blendtec agent in Australia, I was told that the product purchase through Amazon is not covered by any warranty. It will cost AU$277 for the replace jar. Now I have paid top price to find out that the jar for the Blendtec blender does not last, and it is expensive to replace. is not a blender I would ever want to touch and I will certainly like to warn anybody thinking of getting a Blendtec to stay away. I am appalled by the fact that an expensive blender was only last for less than nine months. |
