It has held up well except for a sticky power button flaw. The motor seems to have died recently after a few moments use. I researched other pro mixers and decided to stay with the Bamix though it is expensive. They were adequate in their operation and provided needed services. For Christmas 2011, our daughter-in-law mentioned that she was looking into the Bamix immersion blender. We purchased it for her for Christmas and were blown away by its size and operation. Since our cheaper version of immersion blender deep-sixed just before Thanksgiving, I decided to get one for my wife.They are not cheap by any measure but what you get is definitely the cadillac of blenders. The GL200 Pro is exactly that, a professional model with a long neck, powerful motor, and accessories to meet practically every need. It cost back then, about the same as it does now!! Actually I bought 2, one for my mom. I still have one of them and it works perfectly. I wanted another one to have at my summer home and was so excited to find this! The company name has changed since the original, but everything else has stayed the same. The blades are exactly the same and I can interchange them between the old and new unit. I was worried the quality would not be the same, but it is. This is a blender you will have for a long time. I use it for everything, and it is very convenient. I really like the longer shaft length of this model. I can blend soups in the pot with no mess! If you are questioning wether or not to get this blender, get it!! you will not regret it. You will have it out all the time and wonder how you got along without it! |
